yea, you are correct

it can mean both things

generally, the interjection "あの" comes in the beginning of the sentence, followed by ellipses -> あの...

it depends on the context

I understand 'ano' as an interjection but in this case doesnt 'ano' mean 'that' ?

 

Like 'that' tree is taller
