Can anyone explain me how this verb should be used? An example would be welcome

"やれ! お前なら出來る。いいか しもん、自分じるな。 俺をじろ! おじる俺を信じろ!"

I am most familiar with number 1, so here is a sentence that means "John wants to go shopping".

ジョンさんは買い物に行きたがっています。

-がる is only used when observing others' emotions or desires, never for one's own feelings.
